'Brexit' Second in a series
'The hills and mountains represent the 27 EU States, from which Britain now isolates itself by the building of a metaphorical wall. The self-elevated position of the 'Brexiteers' is portrayed by the raised village. The promised fruits of Brexit are, it is hoped, obscured within the bay tree above, but this is in any case out of reach and reminiscent of the'magic beans' in the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. Meanwhile, negotiations and infighting drag slowly on, like a snail.
The first sign of storm clouds can be seen gathering in the distance. The ladybirds? They represent the migrant workers unsure and insecure about their futures, heading back to the continent'
